Mission Statement
Partnering with the Inland Northwest to reach the poor with the love and power of the gospel so they may become God-dependent, contributing members of society.
About
Founded in 1951 by a group of Christian businesspeople, UGM exists to provide food, shelter, and individualized pathways out of homelessness to men, women, and children in need across Eastern Washington and North Idaho. Our services include comprehensive addiction and trauma recovery, legal and financial services, jobs and job-training, one-on-one counseling, and much more.
More than 2,000 men, women, and children in the Inland Northwest are experiencing homelessness right now. Food and shelter are crucial but are not enough to break the cycle of homelessness, abuse, or addiction in a person’s life. To make a difference, we have to go deeper.
Lives damaged by trauma, abuse, addiction, mental illness, or neglect are not healed through housing alone. Since 1951, UGM has been providing a pathway out of homelessness through a whole-person approach to physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional restoration. Recovery programs, mentorships, job training, and transitional housing options are just a few of the resources made available at UGM.
Recurring donations and volunteers provide the stability needed for UGM to reach and serve every guest with these invaluable services. When you give monthly or volunteer your time, you’re investing in life-long change. You will have a permanent impact on local men and women working to break the cycle of homelessness and abuse in their lives.
